Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our classes, workshops, and performances. If you cannot find what you need here, please contact us.

Do I need previous dance experience?

No. We offer classes and workshops for complete beginners as well as for those with experience. Each session description will state the recommended level—introductory, intermediate, or advanced—so you can choose what fits. Many of our workshops are open to all and focus on exploration rather than technique level. If you are new to dance, we suggest starting with an introductory class or an all-levels workshop.

What should I wear to class or a workshop?

Wear clothes you can move freely in: leggings, joggers, a close-fitting top, or similar. We usually train in bare feet or dance shoes depending on the floor; the teacher will let you know at the start. Avoid loose jewellery and anything that could get in the way or cause injury. Bring water and a small towel if you like. There are no strict dress codes—comfort and safety come first.

How do I book a class or workshop?

Visit our Classes or Workshops pages for the current schedule and booking links. Drop-in places are often available, but we recommend booking in advance to secure your spot. For group bookings, block bookings, or any questions, use our Contact page and we will get back to you. Payment is usually taken at the time of booking.

Where are you based?

We operate in the UK under Frontline Dance. Exact studio and performance venues are listed on the relevant pages and in your booking confirmation. We sometimes work in different spaces depending on the project, so always check the details for your specific class, workshop, or performance. Travel and access information is included where possible.

Can I try a class before committing to a course?

Yes. Most of our weekly classes can be attended as a single drop-in session. You can book one class to see if the style and level suit you. If you are unsure which level to choose, get in touch and we can point you to the right session. There is no obligation to sign up for a block after your first class.

Do you offer classes for children or young people?

Our current programme is aimed at adults (typically 16+). For younger dancers we recommend checking Frontline Dance and local dance schools for age-appropriate classes. We may run occasional youth or family workshops—these will be advertised on the site when available.

How can I find out about upcoming performances?

Our Performances page is updated with dates, venues, and booking links when shows are confirmed. You can also contact us to join our mailing list for performance and workshop announcements. We do not share your details with third parties.

What is the difference between a class and a workshop?

Classes are weekly, ongoing sessions focused on technique and movement vocabulary at a set level. Workshops are intensive, often one-off or short-run events centred on a specific theme (e.g. improvisation, partnering, choreography) and may be led by guest artists. Both are open to booking; workshop descriptions will say if prior experience is needed. If you want regular training, start with classes; if you want to go deeper on a topic, try a workshop.

Do you offer refunds or credits if I cannot attend?

Our refund and credit policy depends on the type of booking (single class, block, or workshop). Details are on the booking page and in the confirmation email. In general we ask for advance notice for cancellations where possible. For exceptional circumstances, get in touch and we will do our best to help. We are a small team so we appreciate your understanding.
